Definition of Abscess
Localized collection of pus in a cavity noviformada organic. The abscess is the end of microbial inflammation of tissue in which it sits.
Abscess Classification
Abscesses are classified according to several criteria:
For location
- Superficial abscesses
- Subcutaneous abscesses
- Abscess supraaponeurotic when above the fascia lining the muscle mass.
- Deep abscesses when they are below the fascia.
- Abscesses of the internal organs (kidney, liver, brain, etc.).

Symptoms of abscess
The classic symptoms of inflammation, namely:
- Redness, swelling and heat produced by the local blood congestion.

It also may have symptoms associated with local infection such as fever, headache, vague feeling of malaise.
