Body and Mind Practices | Biofeedback and Visualization
What practices of medicine are part of the body and mind?
* Biofeedback: through the use of some devices that help you measure heart rate, skin temperature and to the activity of your brain, you will have the opportunity to learn to control blood pressure and muscle tension, among others.
Biofeedback is thought to help control conditions such as asthma, such as irritable bowel syndrome, nausea and vomiting associated with cancer therapies, and constipation. It has also been effective in some cases of incontinence, high blood pressure, pain, epilepsy and anxiety control.
* Visualization is a technique used to create images in the mind in order to cure and heal. For example, the Navajo Indians used this technique to invite the person to be viewed as being healthy. Today it refers to practices developed by Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung where he documented the use of imagination in the healing process.
It is currently used in some cases of cancer treatment to reduce symptoms, but also for stress management, and before and after surgery to reduce anxiety. Most striking of all is that it has no negative effect. So you can try without fear of consequences.
