Abscess Classification
Abscesses are classified according to several criteria:
For location
- Superficial abscesses
- Subcutaneous abscesses
- Abscess supraaponeurotic when above the fascia lining the muscle mass.
- Deep abscesses when they are below the fascia.
- Abscesses of the internal organs (kidney, liver, brain, etc.).
- Fatty cellular tissue abscesses located around internal organs.

By the nature of the pus
- Abscess hot.
- Cold abscesses.
- Chemical or aseptic abscess (abscess of attachment)

Symptoms of abscess
The classic symptoms of inflammation, namely:
- Redness, swelling and heat produced by the local blood congestion.
- Pain: produced by the understanding of local nerves.
- Functional Impotence: inability to use the inflamed region in her usual role, probably due to congestion.

It also may have symptoms associated with local infection such as fever, headache, vague feeling of malaise.

When the abscess begins to mature, the fever or local swelling goes down and is soft and fluctuant on palpation.

Natural Medicine for the abscess to Hydrotherapy: Hot Compress or hay fenugreek ½ or 1 hour of application 5 to 10 times a day. Very useful the use of honey in a poultice.

It defines abortion as the termination of pregnancy by natural causes or deliberately caused.

Symptoms of spontaneous abortion
The three main symptoms of abortion are: pain, cervical dilation and bleeding.

Symptoms of abortion in the first month
If abortion occurs in the first month of conception almost always goes unnoticed clinically, since the three specific symptoms of abortion do not occur. For example, there is usually no pain due to lack of uterine contraction nor dilation of the cervix and the fertilized egg from being small can easily pass through the cervical canal as normal. Regarding the bleeding can manifest itself in a light and between blood clots is also expelled the fertilized egg.

Symptoms of abortion in the second and third month of conception
In this case symptoms develop in a more remarkable. There is a more apparent bleeding, pain and a degree of dilation of the cervix in order to let the egg more developed into an embryo.

Symptoms of abortion from fourth to sixth month
This is called fetal abortion and already has mechanisms of action very similar to childbirth. You could say that is a miniature delivery.

At first the fetus is expelled, after breakage of the amniotic sac.
Secondly, it expels the placenta and membranes.
In this case the pains are strong and durable (for uterine contraction). Blood flow is copious and the cervix is more dilated. In the blood ejected is easily recognized expelled the fetus in whole or in fragments.

Causes of abortion
Among the causes of spontaneous abortion include: local maternal causes, maternal causes general occupational causes, causes paternal genetics and the unknown.

Maternal causes local
With this we mean those that affect the genital area. These include:

Inflammation of the lining of the uterus (endometritis, especially blennorrhagic).
Uterine Tumors
Underdevelopment of the uterus. In this case the cavity is too small to hold the fetus up to the ninth month.
A congenital or acquired deformity of the uterus

General maternal causes
These include diabetes and all the debilitating diseases of women
Hormonal factors
Thyroid problems.
Smoking, drinking and drug use.
Food very poor
Radiation
Acute and chronic infections. In these cases the fetus may die of toxic poisoning, blood-borne bacteria from mother to fetus, or heavy bleeding that separates the fetus from the uterine wall through which it receives nutrition.

Occupational causes
In many countries, spontaneous abortions may be caused due to the work that women exercise: rice gatherers, sewing machine, manipulative snuff, phosphorus, etc.

Causes of abortion parental
Weakness or poor sperm vitality.

Other causes of spontaneous abortion
The age of women. From age 35 the percentage of cases of spontaneous abortion.
Chromosomal abnormalities of the fetus by a faulty egg or sperm.
Psychological trauma. Sometimes we hear that a strong emotion caused an abortion. Although it can not be excluded this case, it happens very rarely.
Sex and physical exertion. As in the previous case is difficult as these are causes of abortion, but not impossible.
Strong trauma. These cases are also rare because of the protection which the fetus is in the womb.

padding:5px"width="200"height="225"/>For conventional radiation therapy, initial visit with the oncologist is called consultation. On this visit I asked the history of their illness and do a physical exam. At this point you may need consultation with other members of your treatment team.

After you and your (s) doctor (s) have decided the course of treatment, beginning the first phase of treatment planning. At this stage, a radiation oncologist, a doctor who specializes in radiation therapy “will make a simulation of radiotherapy treatment using current radiographs (X rays) or computed tomography (CT). In some cases, you may need an MRI. These radiographic studies are used to plan the type and direction of radiation beams used to treat cancer.

During the simulation, you must be lying for no move, on the treatment table, although at that time is not given radiotherapy. Usually, at this stage there will be an immobilization mask to keep your head in the same position. Treatment usually begins one or two days after the planning session.

During the actual treatment with radiation therapy will be asked to lie on the treatment table without moving. The radiation therapist will administer the treatment prescribed by radiation oncologist. The treatment lasts only minutes, and you do not feel anything. Stereotactic radiosurgery If you do, you might put a rigid in the head. This procedure uses computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to help the doctor identify the exact location of the tumor, and a computer to help regulate the radiation dose as needed. You may be taking multiple images on the treatment machine to ensure their alignment.

The treatment planning sessions and the first sessions of radiotherapy can take an hour or two, then the treatments last a few minutes and you can get from the department of radiotherapy after 30-45 minutes each session. In general, treatments are given once or twice a day, five days a week for five to seven weeks.

* The three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT) is a conventional form of radiation therapy that uses a specific adaptation of the X-ray beams designed to conform to the shape of the tumor to maximize the tumor dose and minimize dose applied in the surrounding normal tissue. This form of treatment is customized according to the patient’s particular anatomy and the location of the tumor. Often, it requires a CT scan or MRI for treatment planning.
* Brachytherapy is the temporary location of radioactive material in the body, usually used to give an additional dose (or stimulus) of radiation in the area instead of splitting. See page Brachytherapy (www.RadiologyInfo.org/sp/info.cfm?PG=brachy) for more information.

Surgery, also called surgical resection is often indicated for primary brain tumors. In this procedure the surgeon removes all or part of the tumor without causing severe damage to surrounding tissues. Surgery can also be done to reduce pressure inside the skull (known as intracranial pressure) and to relieve symptoms (called palliative treatment) in cases where no tumor can be removed.

Chemotherapy, or anticancer drugs, may be recommended. Chemotherapy in combination with radiation therapy (concurrent), has become the standard treatment in relation to primary malignant brain tumors. The use of these drugs or chemicals slows down or kill the cells of fast playback, and can be used before, during and after surgery and / or radiation to destroy tumor cells and preventing recurrence. Chemotherapy may be taken as a pill or injection, and is often used a combination. May also be prescribed several drugs called radiosensitizers, believed to make radiation therapy more effective.

Various treatments are used to treat brain tumors. The type of treatment recommended depends on the size and type of tumor, the growth rate and the overall health of the patient. Treatment options include surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, targeted biological agents or a combination thereof. Surgical resection (if not dangerous) is usually the first recommendation of treatment to reduce pressure on our brain quickly. This website focuses on radiation therapy for brain tumors.

In the past two decades, researchers have developed new techniques to deliver radiation to the brain tumor while protecting nearby healthy tissue. These treatments include brachytherapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and radiosurgery.

Radiation therapy may be recommended for tumors sensitive to this treatment. Conventional radiation therapy using external beam X-ray, gamma rays or protons targeted to the tumor to kill cancer cells and shrink brain tumors. Usually occurs in a period of several weeks. The whole brain radiation therapy is an option for multiple tumors.

The following are some new types of radiation:

* Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT, for its acronym in English [Intensity-modulated radiation therapy]) is an advanced form of radiation therapy that uses high-precision X-ray accelerators to computer-controlled precise radiation doses to malignant tumors or specific areas within the tumor. The radiation dose is designed to comply with a three-dimensional (3D) of the tumor by modulating (control) of the intensity of the radiation beam to focus a higher dose to the tumor while minimizing exposure to radiation on healthy cells. See page IMRT (www.RadiologyInfo.org/sp/info.cfm?pg=imrt) for more information.
* Stereotactic radiosurgery is a highly accurate form of radiation therapy that directs narrow beams of radiation to the tumor from different angles. In this procedure the patient may place a rigid device in the head. Computed tomography (CT) or nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) help the doctor identify the exact location of the tumor, and the computer helps to regulate the dose of radiation. Radiation therapy is stereotactic radiosurgery physically similar but involves fractionation (multiple treatments). This method would be recommended for tumors that are at or near critical structures of the brain that can not tolerate a single large dose of radiation or larger tumor. See page estereoestática Radiosurgery (www.RadiologyInfo.org/sp/info.cfm?pg=stereotactic).

Tumors can directly destroy healthy brain cells. They can also indirectly damage them by invading other parts of the brain and cause inflammation, brain swelling and pressure inside the skull.

Brain tumors can be malignant or benign. A malignant tumor, also called brain cancer often grows quickly invade healthy brain areas. Benign tumors do not contain cancer cells. Viewed under a microscope to look normal, and usually grow slowly.

Brain tumors can be of two types: primary or metastatic. Primary brain tumors originate in the brain, and metastatic cancer cells appear when another part of the body spread to the brain. Therefore, metastatic brain tumors are almost always malignant, while primary tumors may be benign or malignant.

Brain tumors are classified according to tumor location, type of tissue involved, if the tumor is benign or malignant, and other factors. If it is determined that a tumor is malignant, cells were examined under a microscope to determine the degree of malignancy. According to this analysis, tumors classified by their degree of malignancy, from less malignant to more malignant. Some factors that determine the extent of the tumor are the speed of cell growth, the amount of blood supplied to the cells, the presence of dead cells in the center of the tumor (necrosis), if cells are confined to a specific area, and the degree of similarity between cancer cells and normal.

The cause of primary brain tumors, genetic and environmental factors could be the cause of some. Previous exposure to therapeutic radiation during childhood appears to be a causative agent in a few patients. The symptoms of a brain tumor include headache, nausea, vomiting, seizures, behavioral changes, memory loss and problems with vision or hearing.

However, heart disease is the number one killer in the United States. It is also a major cause of disability. There are many forms of heart disease. The most common cause of heart disease is narrowing or blockage of the coronary arteries, blood vessels that supply blood to the heart itself. This is called coronary artery disease and develops slowly over time. It is the most important cause for which people suffer heart attacks.

Other types of heart problems may occur in heart valves or the heart can not beat either because of heart failure. Some people are born with heart disease.

You can reduce your risk of heart disease by taking steps to control factors that put you at greater risk:

* Control your blood pressure
* Lower your cholesterol
* Do not smoke
* Get enough exercise

In addition, some drugs commonly used to treat other conditions also may help relieve or prevent migraines. Medications used to combat migraines fall into two broad categories:

* Pain-relieving medications. Also known as acute or abortive treatment, these types of drugs are taken during migraine attacks and are designed to stop symptoms that have already begun.
* Preventive medications. These types of drugs are taken regularly, often on a daily basis, to reduce the severity or frequency of migraines.

Choosing a strategy to manage your migraines depends on the frequency and severity of your headaches, the degree of disability your headaches cause, and your other medical conditions.

Some medications aren’t recommended if you’re pregnant or breast-feeding. Some aren’t used for children. Your doctor can help find the right medication for you.

Pain-relieving medications
For best results, take pain-relieving drugs as soon as you experience signs or symptoms of a migraine. It may help if you rest or sleep in a dark room after taking them:

* Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These medications, such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others) or aspirin, may help relieve mild migraines. Drugs marketed specifically for migraine, such as the combination of acetaminophen, aspirin and caffeine (Excedrin Migraine), also may ease moderate migraines but aren’t effective alone for severe migraines. If taken too often or for long periods of time, NSAIDs can lead to ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding and rebound headaches.
* Triptans. For many people with severe migraine attacks, triptans are the drug of choice. They are effective in relieving the pain, nausea and sensitivity to light and sound that are associated with migraines. Medications include sumatriptan (Imitrex), rizatriptan (Maxalt), naratriptan (Amerge), zolmitriptan (Zomig), almotriptan (Axert), frovatriptan (Frova) and eletriptan (Relpax). Side effects of triptans include nausea, dizziness and muscle weakness. They aren’t recommended for people at risk for strokes and heart attacks. A new, single-tablet combination of sumatriptan and naproxen sodium (Treximet) became available in 2008. It’s more effective in relieving migraine symptoms than either medication on its own.
* Ergot. Ergotamine (Migergot, Cafergot) is much less expensive, but also less effective, than triptans. It seems most effective in those whose pain lasts for more than 48 hours. Dihydroergotamine (Migranal) is an ergot derivative that is more effective and has fewer side effects than ergotamine.
* Anti-nausea medications. Because migraine attacks are often accompanied by nausea with or without vomiting, medication for nausea is appropriate and is usually combined with other medications. Frequently prescribed medications are metoclopramide (oral) or prochlorperazine (oral or suppository).
* Butalbital combinations. Medications that combine the sedative butalbital with aspirin or acetaminophen (Butapap, Phrenlin Forte) are sometimes used to treat migraine attacks. Some combinations also include caffeine or codeine (Esgic-Plus, Fioricet). These medications, however, have a high risk of rebound headaches and withdrawal symptoms so should be used infrequently.
* Opiates. Medications containing narcotics, particularly codeine, are sometimes used to treat migraine pain when people can’t take triptans or ergot. Narcotics are habit-forming and are usually used only as a last resort.

Preventive medications
Nearly half of those who get migraines could benefit from preventative medication, yet only about 1 in 10 people take it. You may be a candidate for preventive therapy if you have two or more debilitating attacks a month, if pain-relieving medications aren’t helping, or if your migraine signs and symptoms include a prolonged aura or numbness and weakness.

Preventive medications can reduce the frequency, severity and length of migraines and may increase the effectiveness of symptom-relieving medicines used during migraine attacks. Your doctor may recommend that you take preventive medications daily, or only when a predictable trigger, such as menstruation, is approaching.

In most cases, preventive medications don’t eliminate headaches completely, and some cause serious side effects. If you have had good results from preventative medicine and have been migraine-free for six months to a year, your doctor may recommend tapering off the medication to see if your migraines return without it.

For best results, take these medications as your doctor recommends:

* Cardiovascular drugs. Beta blockers — commonly used to treat high blood pressure and coronary artery disease — can reduce the frequency and severity of migraines. These drugs are considered among first-line treatment agents. Calcium channel blockers, another class of cardiovascular drugs, especially verapamil (Calan, Isoptin), also may be helpful in preventing migraines and relieving symptoms from aura. In addition, the antihypertensive medications lisinopril (Prinivil, Zestril) and candesartan (Atacand) are useful in reducing the length and severity of migraines. Researchers don’t understand exactly why all of these cardiovascular drugs prevent migraines. Side effects can include dizziness, drowsiness or lightheadedness.
* Antidepressants. Certain antidepressants are good at helping to prevent some types of headaches, including migraines. Most effective are tricyclic antidepressants, such as amitriptyline, nortriptyline (Pamelor) and protriptyline (Vivactil). These medications are considered among first-line treatment agents and may reduce migraines by affecting the level of serotonin and other brain chemicals. You don’t have to have depression to benefit from these drugs. Other classes of antidepressants called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), haven’t been proven as effective for migraine prevention. However, preliminary research suggests that one SNRI, venlafaxine (Effexor), may be helpful in preventing migraines.
* Anti-seizure drugs. Some anti-seizure drugs, such as divalproex (Depakote) and topiramate (Topamax), and gabapentin (Neurontin), seem to reduce the frequency of migraines. In high doses, however, these anti-seizure drugs may cause side effects, such as nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, cramps, hair loss, and dizziness.
* Cyproheptadine. This antihistamine specifically affects serotonin activity. Doctors sometimes give it to children as a preventive measure.
* Botulinum toxin type A (Botox). Botulinum toxin type A is sometimes used for treatment of chronic migraines. Studies have had mixed results with respect to effectiveness. However, some headache specialists believe that it can be helpful for some people. Injections are made in muscles of the forehead and neck. When this is effective, the treatment typically needs to be repeated every three months.

A typical migraine attack produces some or all of these signs and symptoms:

* Moderate to severe pain, which may be confined to one side of the head or may affect both sides
* Head pain with a pulsating or throbbing quality
* Pain that worsens with physical activity
* Pain that interferes with your regular activities
* Nausea with or without vomiting
* Sensitivity to light and sound

When untreated, a migraine typically lasts from four to 72 hours, but the frequency with which headaches occur varies from person to person. You may have migraines several times a month or much less frequently.

Not all migraines are the same. Most people experience migraines without auras, which were previously called common migraines. Some people have migraines with auras, which were previously called classic migraines. Auras can include changes to your vision, such as seeing flashes of light, and feeling pins and needles in an arm or leg.

Whether or not you have auras, you may have one or more sensations of premonition (prodrome) several hours or a day or so before your headache actually strikes, including:

* Feelings of elation or intense energy
* Cravings for sweets
* Thirst
* Drowsiness
* Irritability or depression

When to see a doctor
Migraines are often undiagnosed and untreated. If you experience signs and symptoms of migraine, keep a record of your attacks and how you treated them. Then make an appointment with your doctor to discuss your headaches and decide on a treatment plan.

Even if you have a history of headaches, see your doctor if the pattern changes or your headaches suddenly feel different.

See your doctor immediately or go to the emergency room if you have any of the following signs and symptoms, which may indicate other, more serious medical problems:

* An abrupt, severe headache like a thunderclap
* Headache with fever, stiff neck, rash, mental confusion, seizures, double vision, weakness, numbness or trouble speaking
* Headache after a head injury, especially if the headache gets worse
* A chronic headache that is worse after coughing, exertion, straining or a sudden movement
* New headache pain if you’re older than 50
