Eating grapes for better living

Brain Health:

* The resveratrol in grapes has been associated with better brain health and is believed to protect against acute and chronic neurological diseases.

* It was shown in animals that exerts protection against brain damage caused by a neurotoxin.

* Resveratrol belongs to a family of compounds that inhibit the formation of tiny structures around the nerves called fibrils, indicative of Alzheimer’s disease and other degenerative nerve diseases.

* The Parkinson, the areas around the nerves of iron are enriched in an abnormal way, which makes them more susceptible to oxidative damage. In one study, resveratrol and other antioxidants protected nerve cells similar to those of Parkinson against oxidation by iron.

Heart Health:

* The antioxidants of grapes have been shown to reduce susceptibility to oxidation of lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C by its acronym in English). It is believed that oxidized LDL plays a critical role in early stages of the atherosclerotic process.
